How to Tie a Half Windsor Knot

1. Start with the wide end of the tie on the right. The wide end should be longer than the narrow.
2. Cross the wide end horizontally in front of the narrow end to make an X just below your chin.
3. Take the wide end around and behind the narrow end.
4. Carry the wide end over and through the opening near your neck.
5. Wrap the wide end across the front of the narrow end
6. Pull the wide end under and through the neck opening. Pull the wide end of the knot through the loop formed in the front.
7. Tighten the knot by pulling down on the wide end.

The Half Windsor Knot is a classic tying method that strikes the balance between formality with everyday wear. It’s a great option for skinny ties because it gives them extra fullness.
