The black colour of this ring is accomplished with physical vapour deposition. PVD involves superheating titanium nitride to a plasma state and shooting it at the surface. This creates an ultra-thin layer of ceramic that’s bound to the surface at the molecular level. PVD coating is scratch resistant, ultra durable, will not flake, and is better for the environment.
